Today, I was out in the land of Google, browsing through the search results of the query: Music Works Northwest.  On page 8 of my results, I came across a video on YouTube posted on January 17, 2010 from a local artist (Seattle/Auburn) by the name of B. White.  I was a bit shocked that our organization’s website was not only in the title of his video, but also the description, AND he mentioned it IN the video before his song!

To B. White, thank you for the awesome plug in your video!  On a personal level, I certainly can relate to discovering my love of music in my youth and I am thankful everyday to be a part of an organization that promotes enriching the quality of life for children and adults through music.

Check out the video:

This video was featured on the YouTube home page on Saturday, January 20th which resulted in a significant increase in web traffic to the Music Works Northwest website.  Thank you B.White for influencing such an incredible amount of traffic to our site!

Join us on March 6th from 6:30 to 10:30 pm for our most fun and exciting Event of the year, the Music Works NW 2010 Auction - La Joie de Vivre. The auction, presented with a French flare, hors d’oeuvres, fantastic music and dancing will take place at the Community Center at Mercer View (2040 84th Avenue Southeast, Mercer Island, WA 98040).

Music Works NW has been providing quality music education and experiences to students of all ages since 1965. As a non-profit organization we provide our community with services such as free concerts and school outreach in addition to music lessons and ensembles. Tuition, however, only covers 80% of our program costs thereby making fundraising essential to cover the rest. As the auction is our most important fundraising event of the year we strive to make it a night you will
want to relive again and again.

Procurement items are welcome (submit by February 20th, please) and volunteers are needed. Please contact Bonnie Adele (badele[at]musicworksnw.org) for details.

Remember, don’t miss out on this special event. Great buys are sure to be had. Great music is a guarantee. The Primo Basso trio will open the evening with French Cafe style music and it is with great anticipation that we welcome the Freddy Pink band – the  West Coast’s finest R&B Rock Musicians – as our special guests to cap off the evening! Freddy Pink is absolutely amazing. In case you haven’t seen them live yet, check out their Freddie Pink’s New Video for a taste of what an amazing performance they put on.

Tickets can by purchased at the Music Works NW front desk for just $30 each.
Call (425) 644-0988 to get your tickets and prepare yourself for an unforgettable night in support of Music Works NW!  Also, be sure to RSVP on Facebook!

Welcome!

We have exciting news happening around Music Works Northwest these days!  This week we started working with Kent Hermes of thought-dog-consulting on a major social media expansion plan.  For the past year we have had a small presence on Facebook, and in November of 2009 we joined Twitter.  But, as you know or will come to know, Music Works Northwest prides itself on being a community music school.  We want to expand our community presence to the world wide web – cultivating conversation about music, arts, and more!

In the coming weeks, watch out for special blogs from our faculty members, staff members, and more!
